About ChasingFoil
ChasingFoil is an independent, collector-built Pokémon card price tracker. It follows daily market prices for 35,000+ cards across every set from Base Set (1999) to the newest Mega Evolution releases, at the individual-printing level, and adds graded-card sold prices, PSA population and gem rates, expected grading ROI, daily market breadth, and machine-learning price forecasts. Browsing prices and building digital binders is free.
Where the data comes from
- Raw card prices
- Daily TCGplayer market (sold-price median) data, ingested from the TCGcsv free catalog export. Never seller asking prices. Each finish (Normal, Holofoil, Reverse Holofoil, 1st Edition) is tracked as its own card.
- Graded prices
- eBay sold prices by grade and grading company (PSA, CGC, BGS, SGC, TAG, ACE), retrieved through the PokemonPriceTracker API and shown with liquidity and trend flags rather than a single blended number.
- PSA population & gem rates
- PSA population counts. Gem rate is PSA 10 count divided by total PSA population, and grading ROI is the gem-rate-weighted expected value of grading a raw copy minus the grading fee.

How forecasts work
A gradient-boosted tree model estimates each card's forward 30-day return and converts it into a target price with a 90% confidence band. A forecast is only published where, on held-out data, the model beats a simple “no change” baseline, and results are scored publicly on the scoreboard. ChasingFoil is an independent collector-built project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., or The Pokémon Company. The site is supported by Pro subscriptions and by affiliate links to eBay and TCGplayer, which cost you nothing extra.
